There are three options available for a business, college, and/or organization to participate:

The first option is to have a display in the gym or outside courtyard area where you can display information and interact with students about your business, college, apprenticeship, or other career opportunities. The students will come to you to ask questions regarding your business and/or organization such as “What type of careers are available?  What are the entry-level positions?  What kind of education is needed?” etc.  This is a good location to have handouts, prizes, games, and fun ways to interact and intrigue a young person’s mind. Military or outdoor industries can sign up for the quad area to bring trucks, heavy equipment, or other industry tools and activities to attract the attention of the students. You can even connect with students for job interviews or a list of potential future students if you are a college.

The second option is to have a classroom with a computer and projector for a presentation format with interested students coming to you based on their career interests. Typically, there are four 45-minute sessions with a different group signing up for each session.  This gives students the opportunity to visit multiple areas of interest and fill out a worksheet to complete as they gather information and learn more about all the resources available to them within the local community. This is an excellent opportunity to share about your specific career field and why a young person would want to get into that career. Please try to have an interactive presentation with pictures (PowerPoint), interactive activities, and examples from the field. The last 5-10 minutes of this format is for fielding questions from the students. We also open the classroom option up to people who want to teach a life skill/ adulting skill to the students, such as how to change a tire, how to buy a car, apply for a credit card, investing, etc.

A third option is a large group presentation in the 750-capacity performing arts center (PAC). This platform is intended for someone or a group who can captivate the attention of a large group and motivate students for greatness in the future. Looking for people who have overcome difficulties to become successful as adults, speakers or groups that are highly energetic and motivational, or have large group activities on career-building skills for the future. If you are interested or have an idea of someone or a group that would be awesome for this venue, please contact me right away as I only have up to 4 slots available total for the day.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the registration form below. We will be cutting off registration this year on October 1st, so please sign up soon to guarantee your spot. Please feel free to share this information with others.

Contact GPHS Career Center staff if you have any additional questions or need assistance filling out the form.
