Stargaze at Wooldridge Creek Winery

An evening of Dark Sky learning, fine wine and guided binocular astronomy! Event is weather permitting. Bring your binoculars, folding chair or blanket and dress warmly.

Beverages available to purchase. Applegate After Dark (AAD) is a collaborative group of community members, local organizations, and partners united by a shared passion for the night sky. The group first formed in March 2025 following an increased awareness that dark skies are a shared natural resource in need of protection for generations to come.

Our "Stargazing" program at Wooldridge Creek Winery will commence with an after-hour gate opening at 6:30 PM to gather and mingle with beverages available for purchase. At 7PM, Liz Shen (a founding member of AAD) will offer a presentation about the broader dark sky movement and how our local group is hoping to help others learn why and how to preserve our night sky. As the sun sets and the night sky takes over, Sam Dennis (another founding member of the group) will guide participants in using their binoculars to view interesting celestial features from the sliver of our moon to planets and galaxies and star clusters and more!
